Award-winning OPIHR mixes with the best
In celebration of all things G&T, the award-winning OPIHR Gin was on exhibition with more than 20 international and local distillers at the 2022 Fever Tree Gin & Tonic Festival in Brisbane. As the largest festival of its kind in Australia, 3,500 savvy consumers sampled OPIHR Spiced Gin and OPIHR Far East Regional Edition, which was a show exclusive.
With its focus on early adopters and people curious about the world of gin, the event attracted a wide audience across four days. The festival was promoted through several channels, including:
social media and influencers
national retailers linking to in-store promotions
Brisbane’s top bars
earned and paid media.
OPIHR also featured in exclusive masterclass sessions where consumers learnt how to elevate their G&T to a perfect serve and how to pair OPIHR with goat’s cheese. Alongside the masterclasses, consumers had the opportunity to taste first-hand the exotic flavours and spices of OPIHR and make purchases on site.
Adding to an exciting start to the year for the brand, OPIHR Aromatic Bitters Gin, which is the European Edition in the brand’s Regional Editions range, was crowned the best London Dry Gin at the highly prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC). The myrrh and cascarilla bark flavoured gin topped the London Dry Gin charts, bringing home a Gold (Outstanding) medal, as well as making history as the first spiced gin to be crowned Trophy winner of the category.
On top of this, OPIHR Spiced Gin also scooped Double Gold at the International Spirits Challenge following 23 days of intense blind taste tests by more than 75 industry professionals, completing the spirit’s hat-trick of accolades.
OPIHR Spiced Gin is made using hand-picked botanicals, including spicy cubeb berries from Indonesia, cardamom and Tellicherry black pepper from India and coriander from Morocco. These botanicals are sourced from along the Ancient Spice Route, taking inspiration from the adventurous spirit of the spice route explorers. The Ancient Spice Route is not only a trading connection between East & West, but it also brings together people, traditions, customs and flavours from different places.
At the festival, this intriguing story and award-winning gin inspired a curiosity for discovery and wanderlust among consumers seeking a premium G&T experience.
